My name is Brady Horton, and I proudly served my country in the United States Army from 2003 to 2005 as a 15 Delta Aircraft Powertrain Repairer.
I was born and raised in Salida, California, and now live in Lockeford with my beautiful wife, Judi.
A few years ago, I had the idea to begin sharing challenge coins with veterans I would meet in everyday life.
Nothing elaborate, just a simple handshake and a sincere “thank you for your service.”
What happened next changed me.
The reactions were incredibly powerful, not just from the veterans themselves, but from their families as well.
Veterans began sharing their stories, memories, and experiences with me, and I felt called to do something more.
That is how Coins for Vets began.
Today, Coins for Vets is about much more than a coin.
It is about connection, remembrance, gratitude, and honoring the people behind the uniforms.
Through this mission, I am collecting stories from veterans and their families
with the hope of preserving them in a keepsake booklet that can be shared with veterans, loved ones, and future generations.
My hope is that these stories remind all of us that service and sacrifice matter, and that no veteran should ever feel forgotten.
Whether your memory is joyful, difficult, funny, meaningful, or simple, your story matters.
Thank you for allowing us the privilege of listening, learning, and honoring your service.

Coins for Vets was founded in 2026
by United States Army veteran Brady Horton
as a grassroots effort to honor veterans
through personal connection, gratitude, and storytelling.
What began with the simple act of sharing challenge coins
and heartfelt conversations with fellow veterans quickly grew
into a larger mission centered on remembrance and human connection.
As veterans and their families began sharing stories
of service, sacrifice, pride, and healing,
it became clear that these moments deserved to be preserved and shared.
Today, Coins for Vets is dedicated to
ensuring veterans feel seen, valued, and never forgotten through
outreach,
story preservation,
community engagement,
and meaningful acts of appreciation.

Those who serve carry an oath without an expiration date,
and we carry it with them.
Coins for Vets exists to remind every military member and veteran
that they are not alone, not unseen, and not forgotten.
The sacrifice is real,
and so is the weight it leaves behind
on families, relationships, and mental health.
The number 22 is not just a statistic;
it is a daily call to action.
We believe a handshake, a coin, and a sincere thank you can change a life.
No one left behind.
No one forgotten.
